温泉山荘だいこんの花では、これまで客室冷蔵庫に用意していたペットボトルの水の提供を廃止し、蔵王遠刈田の名水をウォータジャグにてご用意することに致しました。
私たちは遠刈田の水が美味しいことに気づいてはいました。
しかしながらその理由について調べることはこれまで無く、当たり前にこの美味しい水を飲んでいました。
調べるきっかけとなったのはSDGsの取り組みの一環として、ペットボトル製品の利用を出来る限り控えていく中で、ペットボトル飲料（水）に変わる代替品を探している最中でした。
遠刈田温泉は面積も小さく、人口も多くないのに、創業100年を超える豆腐店が2軒もあります。
豆腐作りと言えば水が命。どちらの豆腐店も遠刈田の名水「冷泉堂」の水を使っています。
冷泉堂とは蔵王の参詣路沿いにある湧水地で、昔は石組みの水浴場があり、参詣者が水垢離をする場所となっていました。また、ここより上山には目立った湧水地はなく、給水地としても非常に重要で大切にされてきました。
その水質は素晴らしく、二百年以上前の藩政時代から各地行地の役人や肝煎等により名水として登録され、地域の飲み水として利用されています
現在では町が管理する上水道として、遠刈田温泉のごく限られた地域の水道水として飲用されており、そのごく限られた地域に温泉山荘だいこんの花はあるのです。
せっかく水が美味しい地域なのだから、ネットでも購入できるミネラルウォーターではなく、地元の水の方が喜ばれるのではないだろうか。
SDGsやサステナブルに於いても一番良い選択であると考えた次第です。

We, Hot Spring Accommodation Daikon no Hana has abolished the offer of bottled water in a refrigerator of guest room and started providing a water jug with pure water of Zao,Togatta.
We actually have noticed the high quality of our local water.
However, there was no doubt for us about taking this delicious water everyday and a factor in the quality had not been investigated until then.
It was when we started reducing the use of plastic bottles as part of efforts for SDGs and were thinking an alternative product for a plastic bottled water.
In Togatta Onsen, there are two tofu shops founded over 100 years despite it is a small area with few populations.
Water is the most important ingredient for tofu. Both of the shops use local pure water from “Reisendo”.
Reisendo is a spring along the pilgrimage route in Zao where there once was a bathing area for pilgrims to purify their body. Since no spring at higher location is as much noticeable as Reisendo, it had been so appreciated as a water source.
The water quality is so excellent that it had been registered as a famous water by government officers and village officials since over 200 years ago Edo period and had been taken as local drinking water.
Currently, the water is administrated by town and supplied to very limited area of Togatta Onsen. In the area, there is our hotel Hot Spring Accommodation Daikon no Hana.
If our place has a good taste water, isn’t it better for our guest to offer local water rather than offering a mineral water we can buy on the Internet?
This idea is also what we came us as the best at the view of SDGs and sustainable goals.
